After some years of progress for equality, diversity and inclusion, we are now seeing a strong setback on all fronts. More and more people believe they have access to, and the right to decide over, the bodies and identity of others. We see the same setback in issues of people's freedom of movement across national borders, the sovereignty of countries and in the work to prevent an environmental collapse. It is as if we have moved 25 years back in evolution. Why is man obsessed with ruling over, and oppressing, each other? Why can’t we accept that we all are different and acknowledge that everyone possess unique strengths and positive qualities. Let's fight for a world that actually is livable; together! On the EP "My Body is Mine to Decide", ill jill adress some of these issues with the hope of making some small, small difference on the path to a better future. The band is for anyone who feels like they don't fit into the norm – on stage and in the audience and wants to shift the focus from tired love ballads and romanticization of the hetero/norm/cis narrative to a celebration of all wonderful diverse, lonely and dysfunctional people.
